Minc in the Memory Planner

I have been excited to try foiling with the Minc in my memory planner.  I have been a little hesitant because I didn't want to mess up in my planner.  I finally decided the screen art printing was pretty simple and would probably turn out beautifully.

With the screen ink and art screen, I set to add two small floral accents to my July monthly spread.  The screen ink is very easy to work with as long as you tape off the areas you want to exclude.  I tend to get messy with any type of mixed media projects even when that is not my intent, so I was very careful to keep everything neat and orderly where I was working.  Below are the three steps involved - apply ink, remove screen, run through the Minc...it's that simple.

I was so pleased with the results.  With screen ink, you really get a detailed design and once the foil is added...it's just so beautiful.  An added bonus was that the little date circles also turned gold.  They look a little distressed as the foil didn't cover them completely.  This could be avoided by doing the Minc accents prior to adding the date stickers or simply not placing foil over the stickers.  Here's a few more photos of my July spread before I begin filling it with everyday life.

Jan/Feb Memory Planner

It took me a few weeks to get into my groove of how I was going to document everyday life around here for 2016.  Of course I want to use one Heidi Swapp's memory planners to "stop the blur".  This will serve as a place to write down important dates, small snippets from our day and just to jot down things I don't want to forget.  Some days are more eventful than others so on those days I might reflect a little more.  This will keep everything in one place and function as a reference for project life.  I am doing project life digitally through photoshop and the app this year.  I think I will print a bound book at the end of the year for that.

I'm also keeping a second memory planner to document my daughter's progress with OIT for her peanut allergy which you can read about on that blog.  I wanted something just dedicated to her and her daily journey which hopefully will remain pretty boring!I keep things pretty simple.  I have my supplies handy and don't really stray from the HS planner goodies. Here is the opening page and the backside of that page.  "Worry less" is something I am actively working on!

Next up are the photo pocket pages for January.  I love these little sized pockets.  I decided to put myself in this album and not just be the voice.

Then there is what I call the highlight page.  I've blurred the writing because my handwriting is terrible and who wants to read my personal stuff anyway...it's not very interesting.  I'm not sure how I will treat this page each month.  I definitely think I will change it up and cover up parts because I get bored with the same ending page every month. February's opening page is next.

Next up is the back side of January's opening page with a little xoxo card that was minc'ed.  And the larger sized pocket page.

Lastly is the backside of the pocket page and the February highlight page. I added a piece of Crate Paper's Hello Love line to add a little touch of Valentine's.  I also added a 14 on the highlight page on some of Pink Paislee's fabulous new patterned paper. I had originally placed a project life card there but ended changing it out to make it more festive for the month.  Nothing wrong with changing it up as you go...I also tend not to do this page until later in the month because I want to have a photo from that month or maybe highlight something that happened so I will leave some blank space until mid month or even the end of the month.

As far as the calendar pages go, I like to leave those pretty clean except to note birthdays, anniversaries or special days.  I don't put activities/outings on there to keep it clean and neat and also those are being documented on the daily pages.  I also add fun washi and stickers to daily pages to have something pretty to look at.  Thanks for looking at my simple memory planner.  Ignore the handwriting please!

Halloween + Minc + Crate Paper = FUN!

I love Halloween so when I saw the Crate Paper products made to go through Heidi Swapp's Minc machine, I was thrilled.  I try to wait until October 1st to decorate, but with all this cuteness, there was no way I was waiting.

I got right to it with some orange and silver foil, these cute tags, and this ephemera.  These are straight out of the machine.

I added a little embellishment to each tag but they are cute just as they are made. Foiled products are hard to photograph!  They each catch the light so differently so this was the best shot I could get (it's rainy and dreary here so natural light either).

I ended up hanging them from baker's twine with clothes pins from Michaels to create a garland on my mantle.

The garland adds another level of fun to my Halloween mantle.  I have some more Halloween crafting to do so the mantle might get changed up a bit. I like moving things around until I get them just the way I like them. Nothing else is gonna fit up there obviously, so I will just have to spread it around to other parts of the house.

Below is how everything looks right now with the lights turned down.

My little "boo" pumpkin on the hearth was inspired by this blog post

July 4th - Free Printable

Hi!  I am not a very active blogger.  I guess I go through times similar to other scrapbookers out there.  At least I hope I'm not the only one.  I have pretty much lost my mojo.  I have not done much scrapbooking or paper crafting at all so far this summer.  I did manage to come up with a little word art with a new font that I purchased and have had fun playing around with it.  To lift my spirits I wanted to put it here on my blog for anyone to print if they are interested.  I've never created anything to give away or sell so this is new territory for me.  Hopefully someone would like to print it out and frame it for the upcoming holiday.  It would be cute clipped onto a clipboard as well.  I plan to put it on my mantle with a couple other festive 4th decor.  It is sized to 8.5 by 11 for easy matting but you can easily trim to 8 x 10 size.

Thanks for stopping by!  And if you have any special tips on how you get your mojo going again I'd love for you to share in the comments.
